Winter Place Reviews

We stopped in for burgers, fries, and hot cocoa between runs, and the food hit the spot. Prices were fair for being on the mountain, and the staff was doing their best to keep the line moving. I think we just showed up at the worst possible time, because it got crowded fast, but that’s on our timing more than anything.

Had a great day at winterplace, honestly. The trails were more varied than I thought they’d be, like there were easy ones to get settled in and then a few steeper runs when we wanted to pick up speed a bit.

I was there with friends who are all kind of at different levels, which can be tricky, but nobody really felt like they were stuck doing the same run over and over. So that helped a lot. We could split off, meet back up, whatever, and it just worked.
It wasn’t totally perfect, I mean, places like this never are, but as far as trail choices go, I was really happy with it. Definitely a 5-star day for that part

I was pleasantly surprised that the tickets and rentals were cheaper than I expected. Everything worked out fine overall, though I do think the pricing details could be a little clearer upfront.

Went to winterplace last weekend and it was cleaner than I thought it would be. The lodge floors, tables, and rental area all looked well kept, even with tons of people walking in and out all day.

The bathrooms probly could’ve used a little more checking during the busy rush, but they weren’t gross or anything. Overall they did a good job, I’d give it 4 stars.

I went last weekend and the snow was a lot better than I expected for WV. It was fresh and fun in the morning, then got a little packed down later, but still totally worth it. Most of the trails had really solid coverage with barely any bare spots. It ended up being one of those days that reminds you it doesn’t have to be perfect to be a great time outside

I’d asked ahead of time what the lines were like, and support basically told me, “they usually keep moving fast,” which turned out to be exactly right. We barely waited, the lines moved quick, and we ended up getting in a ton of runs.

I rented skis and boots for the day, and overall they were good. The skis were in decent shape, and while the boots felt a little more worn than I was hoping for, they still worked fine and got me through the day without any issues. Pickup was straightforward and easy enough. For a basic rental, it met my expectations, and I’d rent from them again.

Everyone we talked to at winterplace was genuinely nice and easy to deal with. The staff helped us out without making us feel silly for asking basic questions, and the whole place just had a really relaxed, welcoming feel

The instructor was nice and friendly but the lessons felt a little rushed to me. I still learned a few things just wish there had been more time to go through everything.

I went on a super busy weekend fully expecting parking to be an absolute nightmare, like mentally preparing myself for chaos, but somehow it was totally fine. The lot was close enough, the signs were actually helpful, and I was more relieved than I probably should’ve been.
Getting over to the lifts and the lodge was easy too, which felt like a small miracle since we had kids and a bunch of stuff with us. I was ready for the whole day to start with a long, dramatic gear-hauling disaster, but nope, it was smooth and way less stressful than expected.

I went on Saturday expecting the usual long lift lines, especially after past visits kind of wore down my trust in how things are managed. But the lines moved really quickly all day. I barely felt like I was waiting, and that was a nice surprise
